Pattern of Assaults

Since the onset of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military officials have been attacked within Moscow.

This new event follows other serious incidents, for instance:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a bomb placed on a scooter was detonated remotely.

While a Ukrainian source in the past linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are never publicly admitted as a matter of standard practice.

The conflict has witnessed covert operations extending into the heart of the Russian capital.

The examination into General Sarvarov's death remains ongoing.
